Endless to stalemate on 3 laws, farmers build pressure with numbers

The number of farmers on the Delhi-Haryana borders is increasing with each passing day, and more from across Punjab and Haryana are heading directly to join the protest in the national capital against the three agricultural laws they consider detrimental to their livelihoods.

The turmoil entered the 14th on Wednesday with a steady stream of farmers carrying black flags on their actor trailers, SUVs, cars, trucks and gallops, marching forward on NH 44 —– Delhi-Chandigarh National Highway – towards the national capital.

As talks with the Union government remain inconclusive, peasant leaders are increasingly requesting supporters to join the protests to increase pressure on the government to withdraw the three laws. Village farmers along the roads and Gurdwaras are serving langar (community kitchen) for traveling farmers.

Another reason behind the continuous increase in the number lies in the fact that the wheat sowing has ended and the farmers are free for about a month until the first irrigation of the harvest.
