According to police, the actor checked into his room around 1 a.m. Wednesday after completing a shoot. Speaking to TNM, a Nazrathpet station police officer says: “The hotel manager called the 100 police helpline at around 3.30am on Wednesday. We are currently investigating the cause of his death. ” More details are expected.
Members of Chitra’s family, who also live in Chennai, have been informed by the police. She was a resident of Kotturpuram in Chennai.
Chitra was a popular face among the Tamil television audience. He has hosted shows on major Tamil TV channels including Makkal TV, Jaya TV, and Zee Tamizh, as well as running series on various channels.
Among her serial appearances on television, some of the shows that brought her to fame include Chinna Papa Periya Papa, which aired on Sun TV between 2014 and 2018; second season of the popular series Saravanan Meenatchi on Vijay TV; Y Honey Honey, which aired on Zee Tamizh between 2016 and 2017. He also played the title role in Zee Tamizh Velunachi. She also hosted Vijay TV Vasool Vettai in 2019.
Chitra was reportedly engaged to a businessman in August. It was also said that he signed to play a major role in an upcoming Tamil-language film.
The news of Chitra’s death has shocked many of her fans.
