New Delhi:
The Union Ministry of Health has developed a digital platform, including a mobile application, to monitor in real time the delivery of the COVID-19 vaccine, record data and allow people to register for vaccination.
At a press meeting on Tuesday, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said the platform, Co-WIN, will help monitor the entire vaccination process.
“The Co-WIN digital platform includes a free downloadable mobile application that can help to record the vaccine data. You can register in it if you want the vaccine. There are five modules in the Co-WIN application: administrator module, registration, vaccination module, beneficiary recognition module and reporting module, “he said.
Mr. Bhushan said that the administrator module is for the administrators who will conduct these vaccination sessions.
“Through these modules sessions can be created and the respective vaccinators and managers will be notified,” he said.
The registration module is for people to register for vaccination. It will upload massive data on comorbidity provided by local authorities or by surveyors.
The vaccination module will verify the beneficiary details and update the vaccination status, while the beneficiary recognition module will send SMS to the beneficiaries and also generate QR-based certificates after one gets vaccinated.
“The reporting module will prepare reports of how many vaccination sessions have taken place, how many people have attended them, how many people have dropped out, etc.” Bhushan said as he delved into the digital platform.
The mobile app will also send real-time temperature data from the cold storage facilities to the main server, he said.
