BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said on Sunday that his party is gaining ground in Kashmir and was able to organize a rally in the area of Hizbul Mujahideen’s ‘commander’ Amir Khan this week.
“On Saturday a large demonstration was held in an area that is also home to Mr. Khan, who is the second in command of Hizbul. People say they are relieved by the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ”Hussain said.
The BJP leader, who was entrusted with the job of leading the campaign at the District Development Council (DDC) in the Valley, said: “For the BJP, DDC polls mean development, dynasty-free J&K and free of corruption. On the contrary, the Gupkar gang tries to raise other problems. “
Mr. Hussain said that the people of Kashmir were “embracing the BJP in a big way.” He called on the militants to lay down their arms and take a pen “as the Narendra Modi government is committed to taking Jammu and Kashmir to new heights of development.”
Hussain led a series of traveling exhibitions in volatile southern Kashmir this week. Once the militancy infested the Srigufwara and Wullerhama areas, it also saw Mr. Hussian’s campaign.
