PASHCHIM MIDNAPORE: west bengal chief minister Mamata banerjee Monday crashed the Bharatiya Janata Party (Bjp) for leveling the corruption allegations against the Trinamool Congressional (TMC) government in post-Amphan relief.
“No matter how much work we do, our policies are always labeled as bad. The Rafale scam was not bad, the PM CARES fund that does not disclose its details is not bad for them (BJP), but they want an account of the damages of the cyclone. Amphan here, “Banerjee said at a rally here.
“West Bengal will never bow its head to the people they murdered Mahatma Gandhi,” she said.
BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya had reportedly alleged that the government led by Mamata Banerjee was involved in acts of corruption over aid distribution after Cyclone Amphan.
The West Bengal government had previously told a core team that the state has suffered damage of more than Rs 1 lakh crore due to Cyclone Amphan in May this year and presented details of the damage done to infrastructure and various other sectors.
The state’s “damage report” on the super cyclone said that up to 28.56 lakhs of houses and crops have been damaged on 17 billion hectares of farmland.
