NEW DELHI: The coronavirus positivity rate has decreased to 4.20 percent in the national capital region in the past four days and health experts have confirmed that they have received fewer new patients for hospitalization in the past three to four days.
The recent development can be assessed from the increased availability of Covid-19 beds in Delhi.
According to the Crown app of the Delhi government, of the 18,814 Covid-19 beds, 12,644 are empty with 6,170 occupied. In beds, with fans, 1,080 categories are occupied and 451 vacancies remain, which has fallen especially in the last two weeks. In the 3,543 ICU Covid-19 beds without fans, a total of 1,692 are vacant so far, the app said.
However, in the category of non-Covid-19 beds, 322 are vacant out of a total of 1,410. 1,088 are busy, according to the Corona app.
Dr. Suresh Kumar, Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Medical Director told ANI: “The Covid-19 positivity rate has dropped to less than five percent in Delhi, which represents a very good sign of recovery. We are already getting fewer patients for hospitalization. Previously we received 80/90 cases per day, but now admission has almost dropped to 50 percent. ”
Since the last four days, LNJP receives 40/45 boxes per day. The number of patients requiring ventilators and ICU beds has also dropped significantly, added Dr. Kumar.
Safdarjung Hospital is also experiencing a drop in Covid-19 cases with the number ranging from 30 to 50 patients per day, said Dr. Sheeba Marwah, Assistant Professor and Covid-19 Nodal Officer, Vardhman Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital.
Marwah told ANI: “New positive Covid cases have seen a decline in the last two weeks with numbers going from 30 to 50 now every day. Consequently, there has been a drop in admissions of positive Covid-19 cases in ICU. and rooms “.
She said: “But this strictly does not mean that we become complacent until the vaccine is there and its results are seen, we urge the public to refrain from all activities that lead to the spread of this new virus.”
An official source from the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences assures that the number of coronavirus cases is now decreasing. About 10-15 days ago there was a sudden increase in the number of cases, but now the situation has calmed down.
According to the Delhi government daily bulletin, the positive cases are 3,419 on Saturday with a percentage of victims of 1.95 in the last 10 days.
