MUMBAI: Maharashtra reported 4,757 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, bringing the infection count to 18,52,266, the state health department said.
The deaths of 40 patients brought the cumulative figure to 47,734, he said.
A total of 7,486 patients were discharged during the day, bringing the state’s recovery count to 17,23,370, the department said in a statement.
1,12,73,705 people have been screened so far.
The state now has 80,079 active cases, he said.
The recovery rate for Covid-19 in the state is 93.04 percent, while the fatality rate is 2.58 percent.
