SpiceJet flight misses the runway in Guwahati; DGCA founds 2 pilots, pending investigation

A SpiceJet plane passed under the runway while landing at Guwahati airport on Friday, but no one was injured in the incident, senior DGCA officials said.

The aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, has grounded the two SpiceJet pilots who were operating flight SG960 Bengaluru-Guwahati, they said on Saturday.

“They (the pilots) have been off the list. (The matter) is under investigation, ”one of the officials told PTI.

Authorities said that although the plane landed before the designated point on the runway, none of the passengers were affected.
