Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir praised Virat Kohli for becoming the fastest player to break the 12,000 ODI run mark in cricket. Kohli accomplished the feat during the third ODI against Australia in Canberra on Wednesday when he broke 63 runs before being sacked by Australian sprinter Josh Hazlewood.
Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s 17-year record when he hit the 12,000-run mark in just 241 innings. It had taken Tendulkar 300 tickets to record 12,000 ODI races.
Gambhir said that Kohli’s performance throughout the performance has been inspired by the satisfaction he receives from doing something for his country.
“You can have anything, you can do whatever you want, but the best feeling in the world is when you score the last race and go back to your hotel room and you are so satisfied that you did something for your country. , what you were supposed to do, ”Gambhir said on the Star Sports Cricket Connected chat show.
“So probably, all those combinations have made him what he is, and congratulations on him, he has scored more than 20,000 runs, centuries all of that,” he said further.
Meanwhile, India, led by Kohli, lost 2-1 in the three-game ODI series. The visitors hope to do their best in the T20I series that begins on Friday.
