In a pleading, it has stated “It is pertinent to mention that this shocking premeditated political statement by Mr. Anil Deshmukh took place at a press conference 12 hours after the Honorable Supreme Court issued said judgment on November 27, 2020”, referring to the judgment of the Supreme Court. order of November 11, which granted him bail and stated that the FIR filed against Goswami was “frivolous”.
The statement said that Deshmukh was not only publicly biasing and guiding the investigation in the case, but also setting a timeline for the progression of the case, making it clear that the entire investigation of the case was being “manipulated by a political machine.”
He has also maintained that the letter from the Department of the Interior, the state of Maharashtra and Deshmukh requesting a new investigation of the 2018 case has no judicial sanction and at the request of the letter dated May 26.
Arnab Goswami was arrested for allegedly instigating the suicide of 52-year-old interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother, in a case recorded by Raigad police in 2018.
