CBSE Board Exam 2021: Class 10, 12 exams to be taken in written mode; Central dashboard to introduce a new question pattern

The CBSE Class 10, 12 exams will be conducted in written mode, the Central Board of Secondary Education said in a statement. The CBSE has released a statement that clears doubts about the board’s exam mode and said it will be in written mode. However, the central board did not disclose the schedule for the exam, but did mention that Covid-19 protocols will be followed, according to a report by Indian Express.

“The exams, how and when they are carried out, will be in written mode and not online. Board examinations will be conducted following all Covid protocols, ”the CBSE said in a statement.

Regarding the CBSE Class 10, 12 exam program, the central board said that a final decision regarding the dates has not yet been made. The central board said stakeholder consultations are underway, according to IE’s report.

The CBSE has said that if students do not have the opportunity to practice in classes before exams, alternatives to practical exams should be explored, the IE report.

The CBSE will introduce application-based questions in the class 12 board exams from 2021. “There will be more questions based on case studies where students will be given a paragraph and they will have to answer questions after reading. the paragraph. This will test students on their reading, comprehension, interpretation and response writing skills and will steer clear of rotten learning, ”said CBSE Director of Academic Affairs Joseph Emmanuel, according to IE. He said these questions used to be branded, but now they can also be short or long questions. The CBSE has published sample articles on this new format.

Emmanuel has said that the change of questions is in line with the National Education Policy. Skills-oriented education will be preferred over grades- or test-oriented studies, he said.
