Emphasizing that there must be zero tolerance for terrorism, Interior Minister Amit Shah told a meeting of senior police officers on Wednesday that police organizations must work in a coordinated manner to make India a safe nation.
Addressing the 55th Annual DGsP / IGsP Conference, organized by the Office of Intelligence Online, Shah emphasized the need to ensure the safety and dignity of people and underscored the importance of developing police capacities to deal with situations emergency and disaster.
“The Interior Minister highlighted political issues on national security and applauded the role of the police as front-line warriors in crisis and disaster management. He stressed that there must be zero tolerance against terrorism…. He indicated that the security agencies should have a coordinated approach in the national security scenario and achieve the goal of making India a developed and secure nation, ”the MHA said in a statement.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi later joined the conference and reviewed the action points from the previous conference. “A review of the internal security situation was presented to the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior, and discussions were held to improve the overall security scenario with more people-friendly initiatives,” the MHA stated.
Shah also presented 50 Indian Police medals to the awardees and congratulated them on their achievements.
The three-day conference will discuss various aspects of security in the country and address the challenges faced by police forces in the country.
