6 relatives die when a car collides with a truck in Telangana


Six members of a family were killed and five others were injured when a car they were traveling in collided with a truck on the Hyderabad-Bijapur national highway near Chevella in the Ranga Reddy district of Telangana in the early hours of Wednesday, police said.

The deceased were identified as Asif Khan (50), Nazia Begum (45), Nazia Bano (36), Sania (17), Arshad (28), Asra Bano (6). Five others, including Syed Ali, Begum, Nausheer and Anwar Khan, in addition to a baby, were injured. They are all from the Tadbund area in Secunderabad.

“Two of the injured, Syed Ali and Begum, whose condition is critical, have been transferred to a private hospital in Hyderabad and the remaining two are being treated at the Chevella government hospital,” the Chevella police inspector told reporters. , Balakrishna.

According to the inspector, the 11 members of the family set out for Gurmatkal in the Yadgir district of Karnataka in a Toyota Innova car early in the morning. “When crossing the village of Kandawada on the outskirts of the city of Chevella, the driver of his SUV, in an attempt to pass another vehicle in front of him on a road turn, failed to notice that a truck carrying a truck drilling was coming in the opposite direction and rammed it, ”he said.

The truck was completely destroyed and six members of the family were crushed to death on the spot. “The bodies of the deceased were transferred to the morgue of the Chevella government hospital and the case is being investigated,” Balakrishna said.

The accident seriously affected the movement of vehicles on the Hyderabad-Bijapur highway and caused a traffic jam of almost two kilometers.

Police cleared the vehicle that encountered the accident and cleared the road an hour later.
