Defender Harkam Singh, in the legal notice dated November 30, suggested that Ranaut should have authenticated the information before posting it on social media and demanded an apology for her tweets, in which she allegedly misidentified the woman.

“I submitted a legal notice for a tweet that misidentified Mohinder Kaur as Bilkis Bano with a hint that she (Kaur) was available as a contracted protester for 100 rupees. The legal notice said that Ranaut, in his tweet, claimed that Bilkis Bano was present at the farmers’ protest and was available at 100 rupees.

“It is to inform you that said lady is not a false lady. Her name is Mahinder Kaur and she belongs to Bathinda. She is the wife of farmer Labh Singh Nambardar. In her life, she has always remained connected with the fields and field work and is the wife of a farmer, ”the ad said.
