In response to the invitation, Bharti Kisan (Dakounda) Union Secretary General Jagmohan Singh said that agricultural organizations are expected to attend the meeting and seek a common decision for farmers across the country.
“A Punjab-specific package or offer is not acceptable,” he said.
Punjab farmers’ organizations are leading the agitation opposing new farm laws passed in Parliament that liberalize agriculture and have reached Delhi’s borders since November 27, seeking the repeal of the laws they say , are of no interest to farmers.
The Center, however, says the new laws will lead to reforms in the agricultural sector.
