Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that India is giving an adequate response to anti-national forces inside and outside the country while paying tribute to the country’s soldiers. “On the occasion of Dev Deepawali, I pay tribute to all those who have given their lives for the nation. The nation is giving an adequate response to expansionist forces, those who try to infiltrate India or those who try to separate India from India, ”he told Raj Ghat in his Varanasi parliamentary constitution.
The prime minister also spoke about the ancient idol of the goddess Annapurna, stolen from a temple in Varanasi and smuggled out of the country in 1913, which will be returned to India from Canada. “There is another special occasion for Kashi. Over 100 years ago, the Mata Annapurna idol that was stolen from Kashi now returns. Mother Annapurna returns home once more. It is a matter of great fortune for Kashi, ”he said.
The Prime Minister said that these ancient idols of our gods and goddesses are a symbol of our faith, as well as our invaluable heritage. It is also true that if such an effort had been made earlier, the country would have recovered many of those statues. But some people think differently, he said. “For us, heritage means the country’s heritage. While inheritance means for some people, their family and their surname. For us, heritage means our culture, our faith, our values. For them, heritage means their idols and family photos, ”he said.
“Today, along with the banks of the Ma Ganges, Kashi is celebrating Dev Deepawali and with the blessings of Mahadev, I also had the opportunity to take a dip in the light of the festivities,” he said in his speech.
The Prime Minister lit a lamp at Raj Ghat in Varanasi during Dev Deepawali, a festival of light and fervor in Varanasi celebrated on the full moon of the Hindu month of Kartik 15 days after Diwali. The stairs of the ghat have been decorated with flowers and a red carpet, and artists have created rangolis and painted flower pots. Authorities have said 1.1 million earth lamps will be lit on the banks of the river.
Prior to this, Prime Minister Modi offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He also launched the Pawan Path website, which will provide information on the Kashi temples. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the six-lane extension project of the Handia in Prayagraj to the Rajatalab section of Varanasi of National Highway 19 during his visit. The 73 km stretch of the newly widened, six-lane NH19, carried out at a total outlay of Rs 2,447 crore, is expected to cut travel time between Prayagraj and Varanasi by one hour, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
Modi said during one of his speeches that the farmers, who have been protesting the three farm laws, said they were being misled and reiterated that deregulation would benefit them. “New agricultural laws have been introduced for the benefit of farmers. We will see and experience the benefits of these new laws in the coming days, ”he said, blaming the opposition for spreading rumors about the future of farmers.
When Prime Minister Modi concluded his speech, he said that the stream of development will continue to flow like Ma Ganges. You will go to Sarnath and see a sound and light show.
