PM did not want CM KCR to welcome him in Hyd: KTR to TNM

According to sources, the prime minister’s office omitted CM KCR’s name from the list of those who were to receive Narendra Modi at Hyderabad airport.

One day after Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Hyderabad, a controversy is brewing that CM KCR has not been invited to receive the Prime Minister. Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao has said that he was told Prime Minister Modi wanted him that way. He also went on to say that CM KCR was ready to receive the Prime Minister and accompany him to Bharat Biotech when the Prime Minister visited Hyderabad. He also noted that normally when the president or prime minister arrives, the entire cabinet will receive them.

In an interview with TNM, Minister KTR said: “The prime minister wanted it that way (referring to the absence of KCR). It is respect for an institution. Personal opinions and feelings towards someone should not get in the way. Regardless of who the Prime Minister and Chief Minister are, or what political differences or ideologies we subscribe to, it is important to maintain the decorum and dignity of the institutions. It would have been good if the Prime Minister wanted the Honorable CM to be with him during the visit. It would have sent a clear message that at least in the case of vaccines and things from national and international institutions that we can work on today. Unfortunately, that did not happen. That needs to change and respect is not something that should not be compromised. “

Confirming the TNM, a senior official said an official notice was received from the Prime Minister’s office on Friday mentioning only the names of five officers.

Under standard protocol, the Governor, Chief Minister, Union Ministers, and senior officials welcome the Prime Minister each time he visits the state. Minister KTR told the media on Sunday that whenever the vice president visits the city, even if it is every week, a cabinet minister or protocol officer always receives him and dismisses him.

According to sources, the official PMO information had appointed Hakimpet Air Office Commander, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, DGP M. Mahender Reddy, Cyberabad Police Commissioner, VC Sajjanar, to welcome the Prime Minister at the airport.

TRS social media coordinator Krishank Manne considered that the prime minister who did not invite CM KCR was an insult not only to CM KCR but also to the people of the state. He said: “Hakimpet and Shamirpet Air Force Station, where Bharat Biotech is located, are off-limits to GHMC. Therefore, it is not a question of a model code of conduct. Prime Minister Modi had once spoken in Parliament about how when Rajiv Gandhi arrived in Hyderabad, he skipped the invitation to Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister Tanguturi Anjaiah. What happened is an insult ”.
