On Monday morning, Delhi police placed concrete barriers in Ghazipur, on the Delhi-Ghaziabad border, after agricultural leaders said they would block more roads connecting Delhi, in addition to the Singhu and Tikri borders, where They have been camping since Friday. On Sunday evening, a brief riot was also reported on the Ghazipur border where farmers tried to push through police barricades but were quelled by their leaders.

A high-ranking police officer, who did not want to be named, said cement barriers were placed on the Ghazipur border to prevent farmers from breaking in with vehicles. “As farmers have also called for the Delhi-Ghaziabad, Delhi-Gurugram and Delhi-Faridabad borders to be blocked, appropriate measures are being taken,” the official said.

Police said they are also closely monitoring the situation in the Delhi-Gurugram, Delhi-Noida and Delhi-Faridbad border areas and that security is being maintained as required.

On Sunday, peasant leaders who camped on the Singhu border since Friday held a press conference and announced that they would block three more borders to be heard. These farmers had marched to Delhi on Friday but were not allowed to enter the city, leading to violent clashes between them and the Delhi police. On the same day, the police assigned them the Sant Nirankari plot in Burari to continue their agitation, but they rejected the offer and asked for Ramlila Maidan, who is closer to Lutyens Delhi.
