Kamalrukh Khan, wife of the late music composer Wajid Khan, has shared an Instagram post in which she alleges that both her late husband and family had gone to great lengths to convince her to convert to Islam by publishing their marriage under the Special Marriages Act. . “We never became a family because of his and his family’s religious fanaticism,” Kamalrukh posted on his social media platform. “Today he publishes his untimely death, the harassment of his family continues,” he said on Instagram.
Referring to how her relationship with Wajid was affected after their marriage, Kamalrukh said: “But my resistance to converting to Islam drastically widened the gap between my husband and me, making it toxic enough to destroy our relationship as husband and wife, and his ability to be a present father to our children. “
Kamalrukh added that she wanted the anti-conversion bill to be nationalized, reducing the struggle of women like her who are “fighting the toxicity of religion in inter-caste marriages.”
