The Border Security Forces (BSF) spotted a Pakistani drone in the Arnia sector along the 198 km long international border in the Jammu district on Saturday night.
BSF Inspector General NS Jamwal said the BSF jaws fired a few shots at the spy drone, after which it retreated to the Pakistani side.
Searches have started in the drone area.
Lately, Pakistan has been using cross-border drones and tunnels to push armed terrorists, weapons, ammunition and drugs to fuel terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
The four Jaish terrorists killed in the Ban toll plaza encounter near Nagrota on November 17 had used a 160-meter-long cross-border tunnel in the Samba sector to sneak into India.

As Pakistan is having difficulty sending infiltrators and weapons from the border fence or open stretches due to the BSF alert status, it is moving towards other methods such as tunnels and drones, ”said a senior BSF official.
Another official said that Pakistan has increased its activity along the border in Jammu as it cannot create any impact in Kashmir where there is a strong presence of the army and the central armed forces of the police.
