Union Interior Minister Amit Shah on Saturday reached out to thousands of farmers who have been camping in and outside Delhi to protest against the three laws recently passed by the Center. “The government is ready to deliberate on every problem and demand from farmers,” Shah said in a video message.
Shah said the Center will hold talks with the agitated farmers’ unions on December 3 and if they want to hold discussions before then, they will have to change their protests at the venue finalized by the government.
“If the farmers’ unions want to hold discussions before December 3, I want to assure them all that as soon as they move their protest to a structured venue, the government will hold talks to address their concerns the next day,” it was quoted as saying. as the ANI news agency says.
Thousands of farmers who marched from Punjab as part of its “Delhi Chalo” campaign against the Center’s laws, braved water cannons and tear gas shells in Haryana to reach the Delhi border on Friday. However, they were not allowed to enter the national capital. As the protests continued, the Center, which oversees the law and order of Delhi, relented and set a place for their agitation.
However, hundreds of protesters refused to go to Delhi’s outdoor protest site and remained camped in various locations on the outskirts of the national capital.
