New Delhi / Bathinda, November 28
Union ministers, including Interior Minister Amit Shah, appear to have called in peasant leaders to convince them to go to the Nirankari Ground in Burari. This has been claimed by various organizations camping on the borders of Delhi.
However, so far, they have been unable to convince farmers who believe that moving to Burari would adversely affect their current vantage point on the roads and weaken the agitation against the three “black farm laws”.
Farmers require permission for Jantar Mantar or Ramlila Ground to register their protest.

BKU Ekta Ugrahan has also refused to go to Burari Maidan to protest.
In a decision that could further complicate the situation for the BJP-led Center, the Jathebandi are said to have decided to stay on the borders.
The farmers say they will seal the borders and hold a meeting every day to decide the next course of action, adding that they were ready to stay at the borders “as long as it takes.”
The decision has been made by the 30 jathebandis.
BKU Ekta Ugrahan President Joginder Singh Ugrahan has claimed that the Union Interior Minister Amit Shah called him and asked him to organize the protest at Burari Maidan, but rejected his proposal asking the give permission to farmers to organize a protest in Jantar Mantar.
Joginder said they would not go to Burari Maidan. He added: “Five hundred farmers’ organizations had called a demonstration in Jantar Mantar and they will get there at any cost. If they were stopped, they would block the roads of Delhi by organizing a dharna. “

He demanded immediate reconsideration of the request submitted by the 500 farmers’ organizations for the approval of the demonstration which was rejected by the Delhi Police.
Giving an ultimatum to the Center, he said that if he did not approve the previous request from the farmers’ organizations by Sunday, they would make the next decision on the spot and reach Jantar Mantar in any case.
“They should come to us and remove the ‘three black laws,'” the farmers said.
Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar again appealed to farmers to stop agitating and to attend talks scheduled for December 3.
Tomar called on political parties to stop doing politics on the issue of agricultural laws.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DSGMC) said they would stand by and provide langar to agitator farmers until such time as they continue their agitation.
“This is agitation by farmers, not by a political party,” said Manjinder Singh Sirsa of the DSGMC.
