One day after Maharashtra’s chief minister Uddhav Thackeray warned the opposition to stay away from vindictive politics, former CM Devendra Fadnavis asked Thackeray to stop threatening. “Show governance instead,” said the BJP leader, criticizing the government of Maha Vikas Agadhi for the Covid-19 situation in the state. “It is by the grace of God that the second wave has not yet reached Maharashtra,” said Fadnavis.
“We have never made personal attacks. If we talk about personal attacks, Shiv Sena leaders have attacked my wife, but I have never made a fuss about it, ”Fadnavis said referring to the recent fight on Twitter between Amruta Fadnavis and Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi.

Speaking about the consequences of the government with journalist Arnab Goswami and Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, Fadnavis distanced the party’s position from the views of Goswami and Ranaut, saying: “We do not subscribe to the thoughts of Arnab Goswami and Kangana Ranaut, but we are against the attitude of repressing those who speak against the government ”.
“They remember the promise given [by BJP] for the CM position, but they have forgotten the promises they made to the farmers. The government has not helped farmers, ”said Fadnavis.
“We are not demanding the government of the president but the two decisions [each by Supreme Court and High Court against Maharashtra govt ] it is an example of a collapse of the constitutional machinery, ”added Fadnavis.
On the occasion of his one year in office, Shiv Sena’s spokesman Saamana published an interview with the prime minister where he said that he and his family have been targeted by the opposition.
“We do not want to engage in a vengeful policy, but if we are forced, we will use the Sudarshan chakra [mythological weapon] against your revenge, ”he said.
“I am closely following all the developments. If I am quiet or restricted, it does not mean that I am not a man. The way in which people’s families and children are targeted is not in keeping with the culture of Maharashtra. Those who speak to families and children must remember that even they have families. They are not clean … Not only the government, but also the people of Maharashtra will definitely resist such a vindictive policy, ”Uddhav said.
