QS 2021 Ranking: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai is the best institute in India, according to the latest QS World University Ranking 2021. The institute has been ranked 172nd among the best universities in the world by the Quacquarelli Symonds Ranking. Although none of the Indian institutes could rank in the top 100, a total of eight institutes have found their place in the top 500.

The United States continued to dominate the ranking with four of the top five institutes, including MIT, which ranks first in the country. Among the Asian counterparts, the National University of Singapore ranks first.
