Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has hinted at revising the syllabus for the NEET 2021 and JEE Main 2021 exam, among other things. Sharing the minutes of the high-level meeting held to review the situation, the Union Minister of Education shared that he has asked the National Testing Agency, NTA, to review the current situation and share a revised program for the various competitive exams.
Regarding the dates of the 2021 board exams, he assured that suggestions and comments will be taken from students, parents and teachers on how and when to take the exams next year. Pokhriyal wrote: “Eduminofindia (Indian Ministry of Education) will launch a campaign to seek input from students, parents and teachers on how and when to take exams next year.”
Apart from this, the Minister of Education also ordered the University Scholarship Commission to ensure that all scholarships and scholarships were disbursed on time. A helpline for the same would also be started. In addition to this, plans to start mother tongue engineering courses next year at selected IIT and NIT were also discussed. He shared that some IIT and NIT are being shortlisted for the same.
The meeting comes after discussions and growing concerns about next year’s exams. With the competitive exams cycle just ending for 2020, concerns about next year’s competitive exams have started to spin.
With schools closed since the beginning of the academic session, many students have been left to study alone. Lakhs of students without access to online learning tools have been hit the hardest. In these situations, the announcement of the possibility of revising the syllabus of various competitive exams brings relief to students.
