India Needs ‘One Nation, One Choice’ Says Prime Minister Modi

“It is not just a matter of debate, this is India’s need,” he says while addressing the final session of the 80th All India Board Conference via video conference.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Thursday for ‘One nation, one choice’, saying that it is the necessity of India, since the surveys that are carried out every few months affect the development works.

Addressing the closing session of the 80th Indian Board Conference via video conference, Mr. Modi also paid tribute to the victims of the Mumbai attacks on 11/26 and stated that India is fighting against terrorism now with a new policy and a new process.

Noting that it was the largest terrorist attack in India, Modi said that India can never forget the 11/26 terrorist attacks in Bombay.

On November 26, 2008, ten terrorists from Pakistan’s Lashkar-e-Taiba arrived by sea and opened fire, killing 166 people, including 18 security personnel, and injuring many during the 60-hour siege in Mumbai. .

Mr Modi, who leans strongly towards “One Nation, One Choice” said that it is not just a matter of debate, this is India’s need.

“Elections are held in different places every few months, the impact it has on development works is known to all. Therefore, it is imperative to have an in-depth study and deliberation on ‘One nation, one choice,’ ”Modi said.

The prime minister also suggested a single list of voters for the Lok Sabha, assembly and panchayat polls, saying the separate lists are a waste of resources.

The legislative, executive and judicial branches must work in better coordination and the national interest must be the basis of all decisions, Modi said.

“We must remember that when politics takes hold of people and nation-first policies, the nation has to pay adversely in such situations,” he said.

He also cited the example of the delay in the completion of the Sardar Sarovar dam, saying it continued to delay and was completed after years.

“This could have happened earlier if development had been prioritized. Those who paralyzed him have no regrets, “he said in a clear attack on Congress.

Underlining that there is no place for the policy of untouchability, Modi cited the example of the Statue of Unity built by his government for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel even though he is not from the BJP or Jana Sangh.

The Constitution is our guiding light to meet the challenges of the 21st century and the national interest must be our basis for every decision, Modi said.

He asked to raise awareness about the Constitution.

“Our Constitution has many characteristics, but a very special characteristic is the importance that is given to duties. Mahatma Gandhi was very interested in this. He saw a close link between rights and duties. He felt that once we fulfill our obligations, the rights will automatically be safeguarded, ”Modi said.

He also touched on the practice of KYC (know your customer) in the business world and said there should be a similar KYC push in the form of Know Your Constitution to popularize the Constitution and its different features.

The All India Board Conference began in 1921, and the Gujarat event marks its centennial year.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Harmonious Coordination Between the Legislative, Executive and Judicial Power: Key to a Vibrant Democracy’.
