Antony Blinken, a close associate of US President-elect Joe Biden, said on Tuesday (November 24) that India should be a key partner in the fight against China.
“We have a common challenge which is to deal with an increasingly assertive China across the board, including its aggression towards India on the Royal Line of Control,” Blinken said.
Blinken is expected to become the new US Secretary of State. Blinken’s statement comes at a time when India and China have been involved in simmering border tension along the Royal Line of Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh since May.
In response to a question from Richard Verma, the former US ambassador to India, Blinken said that Biden would work closely with India after assuming the office of US president to renew democratic relations between the two counties. Blinken calls India a close US partner and said the Biden administration would work closely with New Delhi.
