Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday marked a year of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) rule in Maharashtra by calling it the “death anniversary” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government that was formed last year by a short period. He also expressed confidence that the MVA will remain in power for the remaining four years, just as the people of the state will be with him.
Reacting to assertions by Union Minister Raosaheb Patil Danve that the BJP will form a government in the state within two to three months, Raut said it is the frustration of opposition leaders that makes them say such things. .
While speaking to the media, the Shiv Sena leader said: “Today is the anniversary of the death of the 3-day government that was formed last year. Our government will complete four years.”
Attacking Danve, he said: “The opposition leaders say such things in frustration because all their efforts have failed. They know very well that the people of Maharashtra are with this government.”
The Shiv Sena leader’s rebuttal came a day after Raosaheb Danve claimed that the BJP is awaiting Legislative Council elections to go on to form a government in Maharashtra once again.
During an electoral rally of the Legislative Council in Parbhani, the BJP leader said: “They do not think that our government will not be formed, it will be formed in two or three months … we are just waiting for these elections to conclude.”
