The Maharashtra state government has announced new guidelines and restrictions for travelers entering the state from Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Goa by air, rail or road.
Reportedly, everyone entering from the four aforementioned states will need to undergo an RT PCR test before boarding any flights to Maharashtra. Also, only those who can provide a negative COVID report will be able to board a flight.
Additionally, those traveling by train will need to present COVID-19 certificates before boarding, or will need to undergo testing at the boarding stations / airports at their own cost.
According to a notification issued by the Maharashtra state government, “Passengers traveling on flights from Delhi, Rajasthan, Goa and Gujarat will have to produce a negative RT-PCR report on landing at Maharashtra airports. The test should have been done 72 hours before the scheduled trip. ”
Here is everything you need to know about the new guidelines.
For national trips
All domestic passengers from Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Goa will be required to submit a negative COVID test report upon arrival. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has been requested to verify the report before allowing passengers to board the flight.
The test should have been conducted at least 72 hours from the scheduled landing time in Maharashtra.
Those without a negative test report will have to undergo an RT-PCR test at their own cost at the corresponding airports.
Passengers will be able to return home only after taking the test. All contact information and address for passengers who underwent testing at the airport will be collected by the airport operator.
Those whose report is positive will be contacted and treated according to the existing protocol.
Those who travel by road
Interested district collectors from land border districts will be responsible for ensuring that passengers coming from those states have symptoms, including body temperature.
Those with no symptoms will be allowed entry, while those with symptoms will have the option of going home to recover.
Those with symptoms will undergo an antigen test. If the result is negative, passengers will be able to travel further.
Passengers who test positive for COVID-19 will be referred to the COVID Care Center (CCC) for additional care, at the cost of the passenger.
Those who travel by rail
All passengers entering Maharashtra on trains from these states will be required to carry a negative RT-PCR test report.
The test should have taken place no less than 96 hours before your planned arrival in Maharashtra.
Those without a negative RT-PCR test report will be examined for symptoms and body temperature at the respective railway stations.
Passengers without symptoms would be allowed to return home.
Passengers showing symptoms will need to undergo an antigen test. If the result is negative, the passengers will be able to go home.
Those that test positive for COVID-19 will be sent to the COVID Care Center (CCC) for further attention, the cost of which will be borne by the passenger.
