Hyderabad Techie Burned Alive Allegedly By Relatives On Suspicion Of Performing Black Magic

The incident took place in the Jagtial district when the victim went to visit her family after her brother-in-law passed away.

A 37-year-old software engineer was burned alive at Mallial in the Jagtial district of Telangana, allegedly by his close relatives. They supposedly suspected that black magic was allowed to kill his brother-in-law. The incident took place Monday night outside of Balvanthapur in Mallial mandal, minutes from the famous Kondagattu Hanuman temple. The victim was identified as Racharla Pavan Kumar, a native of Alwal in Hyderabad.

According to regional media reports, Pavan Kumar came to Balvanthapur for a visit of condolences after his brother-in-law Jagan recently passed away due to illness. Jagan’s wife and another family member were in a shelter built near a temple when Pavan visited them. It was then that he was allegedly attacked by his relatives. According to Pavan’s wife, they poured gasoline on him and set him on fire.

Police said Pavan and the family of his wife’s brother, Jagan, had not been on good terms for the past few months and had a fight over something earlier. Sumalatha, Jagan’s wife, alleged that Pavan had hatched a plan to kill her husband and executed it using black magic.

Speaking to the media, Pavan’s wife, Krishnaveni, alleged that Sumalatha killed her husband. She alleged: “She kept accusing my husband and me every day of killing my brother. My husband came here even though I asked him not to go because they were angry with him. When he went to put a garland on the photo of my brother, my brother’s wife poured gasoline on him and set him on fire. “

Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s wife, the police have registered a murder case. Local inspectors said they found the body of the deceased in a completely burned state inside a locked room, while claiming that they suspect the role of more than one person in the crime. The deputy superintendent of police (DySP) and other senior officials visited the scene to oversee the death investigation.

Speaking to TNM, a police officer said the case is being investigated from every possible angle.
