The Indian national team will wear a new jersey from the Australia series onwards. The look of the jersey can be seen in a photo Shikhar Dhawan uploaded to social media on Tuesday, three days before the first ODI against Australia.

The new jersey is a darker blue hue than the latest national team jerseys. In fact, the resemblance of the new jersey to the 1992 World Cup jersey has been noted on social media.

Earlier this month, the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) announced an agreement with MPL Sports, the sporting goods brand of Mobile Premier League, an esports platform, as the new kit sponsor and official partner of items for the national team. . The board’s previous uniform sponsorship deal with Nike ended in September this year.

According to BCCI’s statement, under the newly signed strategic partnership, MPL Sports has entered into a three-year agreement from November 2020 to December 2023. MPL Sports’ partnership with BCCI begins with the upcoming India tour of Australia, 2020-21, which will see the India team sporting the new jerseys.
