Mamata Banerjee says Amit Shah’s lunch at the Adivasi house exhibit, the food came from a five-star hotel

West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said Monday that Union Interior Minister and Bharatiya Janata party leader Amit Shah’s lunch at the home of an Adivasi party worker in the state earlier this month it was a “boast,” reported PTI. He claimed that the food was ordered from a five-star hotel.

“A few days ago, our honorable Minister of the Interior had come [to Bankura district], which was a show, “said Banerjee, quoted by the news agency, at an event in Bankura. “Food cooked in five-star hotels was brought to the home of the Dalits. A Brahmin was also brought in from outside.

Shah had tweeted photos from her lunch on November 5. “I ate amazing Bengali food at Shri Vivishan Hansda ji’s home in Chaturdhi village,” he said. “There are no words that can express their warmth and hospitality.”

The West Bengal prime minister said that people can see through those photographs. She claimed that the Center will take everything away from farmers, Dalits and Adivasis.

Banerjee also said that Shah had adorned a statue during her visit, thinking it was the freedom fighter Birsa Munda. “Later I heard people say it was the statue of a hunter,” Banerjee said. “You can’t keep insulting us like this. Starting next year, the anniversary of Birsa Munda’s birth will be a state holiday ”.

Banerjee also said that the BJP will immediately try to implement the National Register of Citizens in Bengal if they vote for power in the 2021 Assembly elections. “They [the BJP] he will ask for the birth certificates of his father, mother, grandmother and grandfather, ”Banerjee said. “And if you can’t provide that, they will ask you to leave Bengal.”

Shah had landed in Calcutta on November 4. At one event during his two-day visit to the state, he predicted the downfall of the Banerjee-led government and said that the “public anger” against his regime was palpable. Shah also expressed confidence that the BJP would form the government in Bengal after winning a two-thirds majority in the Assembly elections next year.

Shah also accused Banerjee of not allowing the benefits of the Center’s welfare plans to reach the poor. He added that the people of Bengal hoped for a change, which the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi could bring about.
