Sasural Simar Ka actor Ashiesh Roy passes away

Actor Ashiesh Roy passed away Tuesday of kidney failure. He was 55 years old. Roy had been ill for a while and was admitted to the ICU of a Mumbai hospital in May this year.

Ashiesh Roy’s staff member confirmed the news. He told indianexpress.com that the actor died at his home.

“It collapsed around 3.45 am. He had kidney disease and was also on dialysis, but had improved in recent weeks … His sister will be arriving from Kolkata in the evening. Then a call will be taken for the funeral, ”said the staff member.

The Association of Film and Television Artists (CINTAA) expressed its solidarity with Ashiesh Roy through a post on social media. “#CINTAA expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Shri Ashiesh Roy (Member since: January 2003),” read CINTAA’s Facebook post.

Celebrities such as filmmakers Hansal Mehta and Ashwini Chaudhary, along with actors Sooraj Thapar, Aasif Sheikh, Tinaa Ghai, and Ssumier S Pasricha also tweeted their condolences for Ashiesh Roy.

Ashiesh Roy is known for appearing in television shows such as Remix, Baa Bahu Aur Baby, Sasural Simar Ka, Mere Angne Mein, and Aarambh, in addition to films such as Home Delivery and Raja Natwarlal.

In May, Ashiesh Roy had announced on social media she was on dialysis and even sought financial help. “I am in the ICU… Very ill. Dialysis, “Ashiesh Roy first wrote on Facebook, followed by another post that read,” I need your money urgently for dialysis (sic). “

Following Ashiesh Roy’s posts on social media, filmmaker Hansal Mehta also asked film bodies to provide financial assistance to the sick actor. Hansal Mehta tweeted: “Actor Ashish Roy (Bond) is seriously ill, on dialysis and in ICU. You have applied to FB for financial assistance. I am doing everything I can to help. Can industry associations also help the sick actor? “
