Maharashtra Will Not Allow Passengers From 4 States Without Negative Covid Report


On Monday, the Maharashtra government made it mandatory for people coming from four states to bring a negative Covid report. These four states – Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Goa – have reported a large number of cases of the coronavirus disease.

“Passengers traveling on flights from Delhi, Rajasthan, Goa and Gujarat will have to produce a negative RT-PCR report on landing at Maharashtra airports. The test should have been done 72 hours before the scheduled trip, ”according to the notice issued by the Maharashtra government.

Those who come on the roads must undergo controls at the border control posts. “People with symptoms will have to undergo an antigen test. If it is found positive, the traveler will have been admitted to the Covid center paying the cost of the treatment, ”said the notification issued by Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar.

An analysis of data from the Union Ministry of Health showed that at least five people died due to Covid-19 every hour on average in Delhi in the last 24 hours. This is the bulk of these types of deaths across the country.

While a total of 511 deaths from Covid-19 were recorded across the country in the past 24 hours, Delhi accounted for the bulk of those deaths with 121 deaths, data updated at 8am Monday showed.

According to the latest bulletin issued by Delhi’s health department, the national capital recorded 6,746 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday and a positivity rate of 12.29 percent, while 121 more deaths brought the death toll to 8,391. .
