Himachal May Impose Restrictions, Says CM: The Tribune India

Shimla, November 22

Himachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said on Sunday that, given the rise in Covid-19 cases in the state, the government would consider imposing few restrictions to avoid social gatherings and ensure that people take all the necessary precautionary measures.

He said it was also important to regularly monitor positive Covid cases kept in home isolation, as the number was higher than those admitted to hospitals.

Presiding over a meeting of district-level officers in the city of Mandi to review the Covid situation, the Chief Minister ordered that fever control and oxygen level be ensured for such patients, as well as educating them to take medications properly and regularly.

Thakur said health authorities should make efforts to motivate attendees to care for their patients admitted to hospitals by providing PPE equipment to make patients feel better.

He stressed the need for coronavirus patients to be referred to major hospitals at an early stage to increase survival rate.

He said that under the Him Suraksha Abhiyan released by the state from November 25 to December 27 for active case finding, the history of the entire 11 lakh population of Mandi district would be taken to determine how many of them are suffering from diseases. IANS
