WHAT ACTION HAS INDIA TAKEN?
Pakistani High Commission officials were summoned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) on Saturday over the incident, as India conveyed its “great concern” to Pakistan over the “planned terrorist attack” by the team.
“Pakistan Cd’A (Chargé d’Affaires) was summoned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a strong protest was made against the attempted attack, which was only prevented by the surveillance of the Indian security forces. Pakistan was required to desist from its policy of supporting terrorists and terrorist groups operating from its territory and to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure operated by terrorist teams to launch attacks in other countries, ”the MEA said in a statement.
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to say that “a nefarious plot to attack the grassroots democratic exercise in Jammu and Kashmir” has been defeated.
Prime Minister Modi’s tweets came amid reports that he was conducting a security review with Interior Minister Amit Shah, National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla and the main intelligence establishment on the Nagrota encounter.
