Comedians Raju Srivastava and Sunil Pal have reacted to the arrest of Bharti Singh by the Office of Narcotics Control. Raju and Sunil have said they are shocked by their arrest and disappointed that more and more names in show business are getting involved in the drug case.
Both Bharti and her husband Haarsh Limbachiya have accepted the use of ganja (cannabis), NCB said in a statement. On Saturday, NCB raided the production office and the comedian’s home, recovering 86.5 grams of ganja from both locations.
Speaking to Zee News, Sunil Pal said that he had worked with Bharti Singh and did not expect her to be named in the case. “I am shocked by the news. It’s traumatic for me because I have seen Bharti succeed out of nowhere. I was the one who introduced her to the Great Indian Laughter Challenge and I saw how popular her work became. I was happy, she thought of me as a brother and greeted me with folded hands. She is a sanskari (cultured) and sweet. Even Harsh is a good boy. So how and where all this started, what kind of groupism is this that is causing her to take drugs, I am very shocked and sad, “he said. However, Sunil maintained that some of the cuts named in the controversy do not mean that everyone is blamed for being corrupt. He set his own example, Johnny Lever, Lata Mangeshkar and Amitabh Bachchan as talented stars who don’t use drugs but still succeed.
Raju Srivastav said he is also shocked by the news. “Can Bharti or her husband Harsh do something like this? My heart is not ready to accept it. What is this? People love you so much, millions of people call you their idol, they put your photos on their mobile phones, they hang them in their homes. They want to be like you and have been deceived. What is the need to do all this? It’s not that using drugs makes you good comedians or gives you energy. I’m so sad. I was here to defend her on your show, that our Bharti is not like that and that she is a pure artist. But now I see the news that Bharti has been arrested, confessed, the police obtained evidence and seized marijuana in her home. What’s going on even? What kind of comedy is this? Where is our film world going? “
“Every time I, Sunil and Kapil get together, we talk about how a comedian got so great after such a long time. She is doing a good job and has opened the line for many women. Long ago, there was Tuntun. There was a big gap between that time and then Bharti and her became so popular. We were very happy with how he is doing a good job, ”said Raju.
Raju added, “All these artists, Bharti, Shraddha (Kapoor) and others, if you have free time and don’t know what to do with it and start taking drugs, then start working to keep fit. There is so much to do. You are artists, you appear on the big screen. You do yoga, exercise. If you have time, do theater, watch good movies. ”Shraddha was also questioned by the NCB in the drug case in September.
Raju said that when he was invited to Bharti’s wedding, he had a good time with the couple. He never doubted if Bharti was being his usual happy self or if he was under some influence. He added that the NCB may have been misled by a drug dealer who took Bharti’s name to get rid of the agency.

NCB had previously raided a location in the Khar Danda area and caught a 21-year-old dealer with various drugs, including 15 blots of LSD (commercial quantity), ganja (40 grams) and nitrazepam (psychotropic drugs). In follow-up and in corroboration with previous contributions, NCB raided the production office and home of comedian Bharti Singh. This comes as the investigation, which began with the drug case in connection with the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, continues to expand into alleged drug abuse by Bollywood celebrities.
