CHENNAI: The ruling AIADMK made it clear on Saturday that his alliance with the BJP will continue for the next assembly elections.
In the presence of the Union Interior Minister Amit Shah, AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam and joint coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami promised to continue the “victorious AIADMK-BJP alliance” in the next elections. They spoke at a government function organized to lay the foundations and inaugurate projects worth more than 67,000 crore in the city.
Later, the two leaders visited Amit Shah at a hotel in MRC Nagar, where he will spend the night.
Amit Shah, for his part, praised the AIADMK government and its initiatives, especially in the management of Covid-19, and assured the central government’s support for the state government and the people of Tamil Nadu. Both the prime minister and the senior deputy minister were providing good governance, Shah said.
Offering a grand welcome at the airport and along the route as Shah traveled to the city, the AIADMK leadership showered praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his trusted aide. Panneerselvam said that the state government could guarantee peace, progress and prosperity with the support of the Union Interior Minister.
Palaniswami said that the AIADMK government had provided the best governance in the last 10 years and had received several awards for various departments. “I wish to affirm that our alliance will win the majority of the seats in the 2021 elections and the AIADMK will form the government,” said the CM. He congratulated the central government for boosting the national economic recovery through multiple stimulus packages. Tamil Nadu greatly benefited from the measures taken by the Center for Post-Covid Economic Recovery, he said.
