On Saturday, the NCB raided the comedian’s home and found a small amount of cannabis. She was brought in for further questioning a few hours ago.
The search is part of the NCB’s ongoing investigation into alleged drug use in show business.
Several other actors, including Sanam Johar, Abigail Pande, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, among others, have previously been questioned on the basis of drug-related WhatsApp chats.
Bharti’s name apparently came up during the questioning of a drug dealer.
Both Bharti and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyya have been summoned.
The two are currently seen together as hosts on India’s Best Dancer. Bharti also appears frequently on The Kapil Sharma Show as Lalli. He has been part of several successful shows on the small screen.
