On Saturday, Union Interior Minister Amit Shah was shocked here when he practically broke protocol to get out of his vehicle and walk down the busy GST Road outside the airport to greet supporters, minutes after landing here for a two-day visit to the city. .
Shah is scheduled to attend a Tamil Nadu government event later in the day, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth more than Rs 67,000 crore, including phase II of Chennai Metro Rail.

Shortly after his arrival from Delhi, Shah was greeted by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami, his deputy O Panneerselvam, senior cabinet members, and BJP State Chairman L Murugan, among others, before addressing the city hotel where you will be staying.

However, after exiting the airport, Shah’s car suddenly stopped and the BJP veteran got out, before walking a short distance, greeting dozens of BJP and AIADMK workers who had gathered to greet him with their respective flags from the match.
Accompanied by the national secretary general of the BJP and party in charge of Tamil Nadu, CT Ravi and Murugan, with his security team in tow, the interior minister warmly greeted the joyful supporters who had packed the airport since morning.
Strong security coverage has been provided in the city after Shah’s visit, during which he will meet with BJP state officials and possibly discuss the Tamil Nadu elections, to be held next April-May, before leave on Sunday morning.
