Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will reopen in a phased manner according to UGC guidelines in this regard starting on November 23, said Dr. Rajesh Singh, BHU public relations officer.
In the first phase, the final year students of the PhD programs of the scientific currents will be able to visit their respective departments / laboratories to carry out their research work.
Dr. Singh said that central committees are being formed for the implementation and follow-up of the guidelines / SoP (standard operating procedures). Each faculty will constitute a central committee to develop a SoP to be followed during the reopening of the university and for its effective implementation and monitoring.

These committees will assess the situation periodically. Taking into account the situation, it will be decided to reopen the departments of other streams, he added.
The SoP will be based on central and state government guidelines on security measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
