Air India has been banned from operating between Delhi and Hong Kong from November 20 to December 3. This is the fifth time Hong Kong has placed an embargo on Air India flights, as several passengers have tested positive for Covid-19 in recent months. The airline has said that passengers with negative Covid-19 test reports made 72 hours before departure, from laboratories recognized by ICMR, can board flights to Hong Kong.
In October, Air India banned flights from Munbai until November 10. The previous bans applied to Delhi-Hong Kong airline flights during August 18-31, September 20-October 3, and October 17-30.
All international passengers are required to undergo a post-flight Covid-19 test at Hong Kong airport.
In addition to India, a negative Covid-19 pre-flight certificate is mandatory for all passengers from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, France, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, South Africa, the UK and the US, according to Hong Kong government rules.
