This town has only one Covid-19 negative man

Only one 52-year-old man tested negative when all residents of this village in Himachal’s Lahaul opted for a massive test, according to reports. The village of Thorang along the Manali-Leh highway has only 42 residents, as many others have migrated to Kullu due to the winter. With the lifting of travel restrictions, many tourists flock to various locations in Himachal as the government has removed the requirement for a negative Covid-19 certificate for tourists.

Bhushan Thakur, 52, has strictly followed the Covid-19 guidelines. He stayed with his family members until the test results came in. After that, he has stayed in a separate room and cooks his meals separately.

However, the Thorang Valley case indicates a community broadcast and a religious gathering held a few days ago is blaming this widespread broadcast. As of now, entry to Lahaul villages has been banned along with the movement of tourists to Teling nullah around the northern portal of the Rohtang tunnel.

The Lahaul-Spiti Valley is one of the worst affected districts in Himachal Pradesh,

The state reported 12 more deaths from Covid-19 on Thursday, bringing the death toll in the state to 481, while 796 new cases brought the tally to 32,198.
