Actor Akshay Kumar has served a defamation notice to a Bihar YouTuber, seeking Rs 500 crore in damages for making “false and unsubstantiated accusations” against him in the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput.
Kumar, in the legal notice sent through the IC Legal law firm on November 17, said that Rashid Siddiquee, on his YouTube channel FF News, has uploaded several defamatory, libelous and derogatory videos against him. The actor has apologized unconditionally to the YouTuber, who has been booked by the Mumbai police in a separate defamation case, and also the removal of objectionable videos from his channel.
“Our client (Kumar) claims that due to his scandalous, defamatory and derogatory videos (of Siddiquee), he has suffered mental trauma and great loss, including loss of reputation and goodwill, which our client quantifies at Rs 500 million “says the ad. said.
“Such videos make various false and unfounded accusations against our client (Kumar) that he helped (actor) Rhea Chakraborty escape to Canada, that our client had secret meetings with (Maharashtra minister) Aaditya Thackeray and police commissioner from Mumbai to discuss the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput and so on, ”he said.
“These videos are false, baseless, defamatory and have been posted intentionally to mislead the public and are just a cheap publicity stunt,” the law firm said in the notice.
“Our client is outraged and utterly outraged at the public embarrassment, discomfort and anxiety that he had to face due to these bogus, scandalous and derogatory videos,” the ad read.
The actor has asked Siddiquee to post an unconditional apology, remove all videos where references have been made about him and desist from uploading such clips in the future. The notice said that if Siddiquee does not respond to the notice within a three-day period, the plaintiff would initiate legal proceedings against him.

Rajput was found dead in his suburban Bandra apartment on June 14. Rhea Chakraborty, the late actor’s girlfriend, was arrested by the NCB in a drug case related to the death of Rajput. He is now out on bail.
