Haryana Cabinet Minister and BJP Leader Anil Vij has volunteered to be the first volunteer to get vaccinated for Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin COVID-19 vaccine third phase trials.

“The third phase trial of Covaxin, a Bhart Biotech coronavirus vaccine product, will begin in Haryana on November 20. I volunteered as the first volunteer to get vaccinated,” Vij tweeted on Wednesday.

It should be noted that Bharat Biotech is preparing to launch the Covaxin third phase trial in Haryana on November 20.

Vij also responded to the Delhi government’s claim that the coronavirus cases in Delhi are increasing due to the people coming from Haryana and said: “The Delhi government should focus on reducing its coronavirus cases.”

Referring to the issue of the reopening of schools in Haryana, he said: “We have to find a middle way between living the new normal and protecting ourselves from the coronavirus.”

It should be noted that five vaccine candidates are currently in clinical trials in India. These include vaccines developed by the University of Oxford – AstraZeneca, Bharat Biotech, Cadila, Biological E – Baylor College of Medicine and the Gamaleya Research Institute, Moscow.

Some Indian companies have teamed up with overseas-based vaccine developers to develop a coronavirus vaccine for the Indian people. For example, the Pune-based Serum Institute of India is conducting clinical trials and manufacturing vaccines, while Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories have signed an agreement to conduct clinical trials and distribute the Sputnik V vaccine from Russia.
