Political leaders, business executives, medical experts, sports icons, a Bollywood star and a singer will be among the speakers at the 18th Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, starting on Thursday, to discuss what the future holds for India. and the world.
The theme of this year’s edition, which will be held virtually, is ‘Defining a new era’ as the world fights the coronavirus pandemic. Live discussions with leaders from all sectors will span four weeks and will take place every Thursday and Friday.
HTLS 2020: at the forefront of the race for the Covid-19 vaccine
The Hindustan Times Leadership Summit began in 2003 to raise the bar on critical issues, foster interaction among leaders in important areas, and present quality thinking. The past seventeen summits have seen leaders from India and around the world express their views.
This year, the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit will begin with the Covid-19 session; Where we are? With Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director of India’s leading Institute of Medical Sciences, and Dr. Ashish K Jha, Dean of the School of Public Health at Brown University, speaking about the challenges facing the pandemic across the world. Adar Poonawalla, the CEO and owner of the Serum Institute of India, which makes the Covid-19 vaccine for the University of Oxford, will be the other speaker for the day. The second session of the week on Friday will feature Kapil Dev, former captain of the Indian cricket team, and Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Speakers on Thursday next week are Union Minister Rajnath Singh and Dinesh Kumar Khara, President of the State Bank of India. Sharad Pawar, chairman of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), will also participate in the session later in the day. On Friday, Ajay Bijli from PVR Limited and Uday Shankar from Walt Disney Company will present their views on Business of Entertainment. Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road and Road Transport, will be the third speaker of the day.
On the fifth day, Michelin-starred chefs and restaurateurs Gaggan Anand and Massimo Bottura will chat with Ritu Dalmia. The next speakers for the day are Ashish Dhawan, Founder and CEO of the Central Square Foundation, and scientist K Kasturirangan. Tennis players Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf will also speak that day.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Federico Marchetti of YOOX Net-a-Porter Group, and David Andrew Sinclair, Professor of Genetics and Co-Director of the Paul F Glenn Center for Research in Biology of Aging at Harvard Medical School , they’re going to talk about The Sixth Day, December 4. Madhya Pradesh Prime Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Walmart Inc CEO Doug McMillion, Deloitte Global CEO Punit Renjen, and Nobel Laureate Abhijit Banerjee participate in the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit on the 7th .
The final day of the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit will feature Vikram Patel, professor of global health at Harvard Medical School, actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and singer Nick Jonas. Singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad will perform at the closing concert.
