Chennai: A container truck collided with a car in which actor and politician Khushbu Sundar was traveling to participate in his party on Wednesday, BJP organized ‘Vel Yatra’ in Cuddalore and she escaped unharmed.
Sundar was on his way to participate in the ‘Yatra’, which has been banned by the Tamil Nadu government, when the truck collided with the car near Melmaruvathur, about 97 km from here, damaging the vehicle.
On his Twitter account, Sundar said: “I had an accident near Melmaruvathur … a tanker truck crashed into us. With your blessings and God’s grace, I am safe.”
The actor, who recently joined the saffron party, clarified that the container truck collided with his vehicle when his car was moving down the right lane of the highway.
The container truck “came out of nowhere” and crashed into his car, he said, adding that police are investigating the accident and questioning the driver to rule out any dirty acts.
“#LordMurugan has saved us. You can see my husband’s trust in him,” she added.
Assuring his fans and party workers that he is safe, Sundar said he was continuing his journey to Cuddalore some 189 km from here.
Police could not be immediately reached on the matter.
Days ago, when she tried to visit Cuddalore for the yatra, Sundar was detained by the police near here.
