On Wednesday, 1,372 people were discharged, bringing the number of recoveries to 2,483,339.
While 871 more people tested positive against 541 on Tuesday, and with this, the total case count has risen to 2,71,525.
The active case count has dropped to 8,658.
However, 16 people lost their lives, bringing the death toll to 10,612. Among the dead, 12 people had comorbidities and 11 were over 60 years old.
The case duplication rate also increased from 297 to 320, while the recovery rate is 91%. Active containment zones (slums and chawls) and high-risk contacts remain below 450.
Meanwhile, Dharavi reported three new cases, while Mahim and Dadar reported 11 and three cases, respectively. Active cases in Dharavi number 8.
The adjacent Thane, which had seen a slowdown in cases, saw an increase one day after the holiday season. In recent days, cases were in the 100 range. However, 179 new cases were reported today, bringing the overall count to 49,200.
