Amid a surge in coronavirus cases in Delhi, Health Minister Satyendar Jain reiterated on Wednesday that there will be no lockdown in the national capital, but said there may be local restrictions in some crowded places.

Maximum tests are being done that The virus can spread easily due to large gatherings during Chhath Puja hence the restrictions, “said Jain.
Earlier this week, the Health Minister said that the third wave of COVID-19 has passed its peak in the national capital.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the Delhi government has sent a proposal to the Center, that if necessary, markets that disobey security protocols and emerge as COVID-19 hotspots, be closed for a few days.
The Health Minister said that, on average, 60,000 tests have been carried out in Delhi in the last two months.
“In the last two months, on average, 60,000 tests have been performed. No other state has been able to do 3,000 tests per million tests in the country except Delhi. We will increase it even more. We will increase all kinds of tests, including RT-PCR.” , said.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Delhi Deputy Governor Anil Baijal, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain also participated in the meeting in North Block.
Later, Shah announced several measures, including duplicating RT-PCR tests and strengthening the medical infrastructure, to control the growing number of coronavirus cases in Delhi.
