Swiggy India’s viral response on Twitter to Donald Trump is winning the internet.
The 2020 U.S. elections have come to an end, and Joe Biden was declared the country’s 46th president-elect. However, his Republican opponent and sitting president, Donald Trump, has refused to accept the election results. Trump has done his best to prove his ‘victory’, but netizens have grown tired of his deplorable antics. His latest tweet in which he claims that he won the US election has, in fact, become an internet joke. Many politicians and brands took an interest in Donald Trump, including the Indian food delivery app Swiggy. Take a look at his tweet:
AND VEG BIRYANI IS THE NATIONAL FOOD OF INDIA! https://t.co/mMlo3HKdEQ

Donald Trump tweeted, “I WON THE ELECTION,” in capital letters of his personal name. Twitter quickly tagged itself as a debatable piece of information with a caveat that “Various sources called this election differently.” Swiggy India then responded to this claim with another hilarious lie of his own, proclaiming, “AND VEG BIRYANI IS INDIA’S NATIONAL FOOD!”
The tweet garnered over 13k likes and thousands of comments on the microblogging platform. Users loved the funny comment on Donald Trump’s claim and how Swiggy India used the tweet in a clever way to her advantage. Take a look at the reactions to the tweet:

These reactions aside, netizens had something to say about the choice of dish used in Swiggy’s tweet. Many users began to contest the term ‘Veg Biryani’ that Swiggy used. Fervent Biryani devotees argued that Veg Biryani did not exist, since in fact the vegetarian version of the dish did not exist. Others contested this saying that the dish’s name wasn’t the main focus of Swiggy’s witty tweet anyway.

It’s funny, the amount of people who can’t seem to understand sarcasm.
Friends, Swiggy is comparing Trump’s false claim to another false claim. Biryani purists can retire, relax.
